We do not sell, rent, or release our list for private commercial purposes. We do trade our lists with other charitable organizations.
Retention of Personal Information
The ODTAC retains personal information for only so long as it is required to fulfill the purpose for which the information was collected. When it is no longer necessary to retain personal information it is destroyed or made anonymous.
Information, when retained, is stored securely and protected by passwords, secured filing systems, limited access to stored information, and legally binding confidentiality agreements.
Accuracy of Personal Information
The ODTAC relies on individuals to disclose all relevant personal information at the time that the information is being collected. Individuals are also relied upon to disclose any updates and changes to that information, when necessary.
Changing or withdrawing Personal Information
Requests to change or withdraw personal information will be processed in a timely matter. The ODTAC requests that you allow two to three weeks for the requests to be processed and for removal from our contact lists. Personal information regarding individuals who appear in the media or in promotional information, on behalf of the ODATC is authorized and written consent has been obtained. Further personal information regarding these individuals, staff and Board Members is treated as private and will not be disclosed unless the individual in question gives consent.
Information Accessible to the Donor
The Board and Staff of the ODTAC believe that individuals have the right to information that will assist them in making informed decisions about contributing to our cause.
This means that ODTAC will willingly provide the following:
*Assurance that your personal information is kept in confidence
*Our most recent audited financial statements
*The ability to have your contact information deleted from our calling and mailing lists
*Information about our mandate, our campaign goals, where your donation is expected to be dispersed, current community events and the names of our current Board of Directors
*Information about whether those representatives seeking donations or distributing information on our behalf are volunteers, employees or outside fundraising professionals
