    DESTINATIONS

    1. Can I choose which airline I would like to fly on?

    Travel Spectacular uses most major airlines. Please request which airline you would like to fly with and every effort will be made to try and book that airline carrier.

    2. Do I have to use your hotels?

    Yes, to receive free airfare to the destinations you will need to choose from one of our participating hotels. You can choose from 3, 4 and 5 star hotels and resorts to fit any budget.

    3. How long will I have to stay?

    You will find the minimum night-stay required alongside each destination in the Travel Spectacular Guide. The average stay is 6 nights when traveling in North America, for international travel the average stay is 8 nights.

    4. Are the hotel and resort rates inflated?

    No, the hotel and resort that participate guarantee the published rates not to exceed their ‘rack rates’ – the rates the travel agents receive and use in their travel directories.

    5. Can I give the trip to someone else?

    Yes, your membership is fully transferable as a gift to another party.

    ACCOMMODATIONS / OCCUPANCY

    6. Are there any age requirements for booking travel?

    At least one member in the party must be 21 years of age.

    7. How many people can stay in a room?

    Two adults and up to two children under the age of 16.

    8. Can I request room location?

    All rooms are run of the house and location is up to the hotel itself.

    9. What are the different types of hotel rooms I can choose from?

    Hotel rooms are standard accommodations and can be requested with King, Queen or two (2) Double beds.

    10. Can I request a non-smoking room?

    Yes.

    RESERVATIONS

    11. Do I have to give 45 days notice?

    Yes. To book your accommodations we must have 45 days notice. A request that does not meet this guideline will be returned.

    12. Will my vacation membership expire?

    Yes, Travel Spectacular membership is valid for eighteen (18) months. A booking must be made within the 18 month time frame.

    13. How can I make my reservations?

    Reservations can be made on-line, through the mail or by fax.

    14. When will I know if I have my reservation confirmed?

    Reservations are confirmed within 72 hours from receiving your request. Upon confirmation, you will be able to connect with the Travel Desk via a toll-free number provided.

    15. What are the required fees that I am responsible for?

    You are responsible for the room rates including room taxes, which range from 8-15% depending on the destination. The other expense item is the Departure Tax, which ranges from 10-15% of the airfare cost, depending on the Departure / Destination airports.

    16. Are there any hidden charges?

    There are no hidden charges or arrangements.

    17. Can I book my car rental through you?

    Yes!

    18. Is there trip cancellation insurance available?

    Yes!

    19. When is the payment due?

    Payment is due upon confirmation of your reservation at least 45 days prior to departure date. All payments are deposited into One Stop Travel Trust Account, as required by IATA regulations.

    20. Can I charge the vacation to my credit card?

    No! Only cheques, money orders and bank wires are accepted. Payments are deposited into a Trust Account as required by law.

    RESERVATIONS & CONFIRMATIONS

    21. Can I check the status of my reservation request?

    Yes. Upon Reservation Confirmation, you are able to connect with the Travel Desk via a toll-free number.

    22. What if I can’t take the vacation?

    These vacations are fully transferable, prior to your Reservation Request.

    23. Are there any black-out periods?

    Yes, on the air packages the weeks before and after Christmas and Easter are not available. All other requests are subject to hotels’ availability.

    24. When will I receive my airline tickets?

    Airline tickets are mailed to you at least two weeks prior to your departure date.

    25. What if I need to book extra airline tickets?

    The Travel Desk will be happy to book any additional travelers. Please note on your reservation form the names and ages and we will be happy to quote the fare for any additional travelers.

    26. What are the guidelines and fees associated with canceling or changing my reservations?

    You may change your reservation as frequently as necessary. However, once your request is confirmed, there is a $30 fee to change your request. If the airline tickets have been issued, there is a $50 fee plus any fees charged by the airline. Should you wish to cancel your reservation, please check the rules for each individual package

    27. Will I be issued a tax receipt for my donation?

    The Canada Revenue Agency stipulates that when a Registered Charity provides you with something of value in return for making a donation, it reduces the eligible amount of your donation for income tax purposes by the fair market value of what you’ve been provided. Because of this you will not receive a tax receipt for your donation for this fiscal year. However, if you remain in the Every Day Hero program, you will receive a tax receipt every year after the first twelve month period.
